A mother in Florida has turned the tragedy of losing her toddler son into joy by donating supplies to local schools on the day her son was meant to begin kindergarten.

Courtney Scott lost her 15-month-old son Carysn in 2012 when he drowned after accidentally falling into a neighbor’s koi fish pond in Viera, CBS News reported.

The mother of four other kids has hosted several events in remembrance of Carsyn, including asking friends and family to perform random acts of kindness in his honor.

She also releases 15 balloons to mark the 15 months that he was alive.
